Novus / Gallup International – Harris vs Trump

Novus, in collaboration with Gallup International, has conducted a unique global survey examining views on Kamala Harris and Donald Trump across 44 countries. The results reveal, inter alia, that a majority of the world would vote for Kamala Harris (54%) over Donald Trump (26%).

Regional differences show that Harris is more popular in Latin America (51%) and Western Europe (27%), whereas Trump is more popular in Eastern Europe (27%) and Southeast Asia (42%).

The highest support for Harris is found in Denmark (85%), Finland (82%), Sweden (81%), and Norway (81%), whereas the highest support for Trump is found in Serbia (59%), Hungary (49%), Bulgaria (49%), and Kazakhstan (44%). In Russia, 43% would vote for Trump and 12% for Harris.

Globally, on average, 32% think that the stability in the world would increase with Harris as president and 17% that it would decrease. In contrast, with Trump as president, 19% believe world stability would increase and 49% that it would decrease.

In Sweden, 38% think that world stability would increase with Harris as president and 10% that it would decrease. In contrast, with Trump as president, 11% think world stability would increase and 74% think it would decrease.

Globally, on average, 32% would advise the American President to increase the provision of American resources into aiding Ukraine in the Russo-Ukrainian conflict and 23% would advise the President to decrease it. In Sweden, 60% would advise the President to increase it and 6% to decrease it.

Sample Size and Mode of Field Work

A total of 40.888 persons in 44 countries were interviewed globally. In each country a representative sample of around 1000 men and women was interviewed during October 2024 either face to face, via telephone or online. The margin of error for the survey is between +3-5% at 95% confidence level.

The survey in Sweden was conducted by Novus from September 26 to Oktober 2, 2024, within the Novus Sweden Panel. It was completed by a total of 1058 respondents aged 18 to 84.
